3 8.9 Earthquake Chennai Second Hit April 2012

Cell phones services have been affected in Chennai, Tamil Nadu following a massive earthquake measuring 8.9 on Richter scale in Sumatra on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a tsunami warning has been issued to 28 countries including India.

Indonesia issued a tsunami warning on Wednesday after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.9 hit waters off westernmost Aceh province. People on Twitter said tremors were felt in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and India.

As per the people who felt it, it lasted for at least 15 seconds

Earthquake is also seen in some parts of Kerala in Coachin, Trivandum and is lasted for 5 seconds, in chennai people says it lasted for 5-6 seconds, Sources say that people panicked and frantically ran out of the buildings.

In all the places the earthquake has seen at 2.10 pm this noon. But till now no report seen from metrological news dept. People from Mumbai,Pune, Patna also says they have seen the same, seen from Facebook and Twitter.



But no loss of property. Other parts in India places of Bangalore, Guwahati, Kolkata feels the earth quake. Tsunami alert in total India. 8.9 rictor scale in Indonesia Sumatra island affects here. In Japan, 7.3 Richter scale earthquake occurred this morning.
The latest is that the tremors were also felt in other parts of the nation including Mumbai, Coimbatore and Bangalore. Indonesia has reported an earthquake of 8.9 on the Richter scale, off Aceh and has issued a tsunami warning
